Wood's Island Hike- Bay of Islands, Newfoundland
This hike is easy -- the hard part is getting to Wood's Island. This island once had many businesses and homes although today it mostly used by summer visitors from the adjacent communities. For our trip, Crystal Waters Boat Tours arranged for us to be taken by dory to the east end of the island and then while it moved to the harbour we hiked 5.5 km along an old road with a guide that used to live on the island. For more info contact Crystal Waters at www.crystalwatersboattours.com The trail is mostly along the shore with the occasional section through the woods.
