Quebec has many places to visit and a variety of places to stay. Here are a sampling of some that we recommend from our recent trip to the Gaspe region of the province.

Chic Choc Mountain Lodge This lodge is located at just over 600 meters in elevation in its own park setting in the middle of the Gaspe peninsula. There are lots of opportunities to hike and mountain bike. They also have a huge moose population so they are a big attraction as well. You can fly fish for trout and even do some kayaking in a small pond. The large lodge has just been built and offers 3 deluxe meals a day as part of the package. If you like wilderness in then this is your spot. I can't wait to visit in the winter. For more information contact www.chicchocs.com For more photos click CHIC |

Le Maison Wakeham, Gaspe, Quebec This fine old home is also a great place to stay and eat while in the community of Gaspe. They serve gourmet food and their rooms have been decorated to reflect part of the history of this 1860's era home. While in the area be sure to visit Forillon National Park, the first national park to be created in Quebec. It is known for its hiking trails, seabirds, whales and the tallest lighthouse in Canada. Gaspe means "lands end" and you can in fact hike to the very end of the Gaspe Peninsula in this park. For more info see www.maisonwakeham.ca Also click Wakeham for more images. |
