Paddling the Brudenell River in PEI

This area is in the eastern part of the island and offers great protected water paddling, especially in the inner estuary. You can do it your self or take advantage of guides who have all the equipment and experience. It is a good place for novices and families since there are double kayaks for rent which are very stable. Keep your eyes pealed for cormorants, terns and eagles. When I asked our guide Jesse Sharratt about eagles in the area he pointed up to the tops of 2 nearby trees where we could see 2 eagles eyeing the coastline for food. Also when we arrived there was a blue heron at the end of the kayak wharf and we saw a mussel boat gathering mussels (see photos below).
