Wade W. Bowers

Professor, B.Sc. Memorial, Special Student McGill, PhD Simon Fraser University. Currently serving as Grenfell’s Associate Vice-Principal (Research). Served as Science Director, NRCan-CFS-Atlantic, Deputy Coordinator of the Special Program for Developing Countries at the International Union of Forest Research Organizations Secretariat in Vienna, and as Coordinator for CFS national Forest Health and Biodiversity S & T network, Ottawa. - Research interests include forest entomology, biodiversity, and the link between science and policy. Specific research interests encompass insect, forest and semiochemical ecology. Discovery of novel insect pheromones resulted in a patent and a National Merit Award for outstanding scientific contribution. Current research focuses on forest policy and the impact of the forest sector on the Newfoundland and Labrador economy.
