How to Apply |
Applicants to the Acting Program are
required to prepare 2 monologues, of a contrasting nature, each no longer than 3
minutes in length. One monologue should be from a contemporary play of your
choosing, the other selected from the list of Shakespearean speeches provided
(please select from either the
MALE or
FEMALE lists).
Applicants who reside in the province will be given the
opportunity to audition in person at either the Corner Brook or St. John's
campuses. You will be notified with an exact time and location.
Applicants who live outside the province or who are not
able to attend the Corner Brook or St. John's auditions may provide a video
taped audition.
The following is for those who are auditioning via video
tape:
- Please introduce yourself on the tape and provide a
little (no more than a few minutes) information about yourself, i.e. any
theatrical experience or drama classes you might have taken.
- Please attempt to shoot the video against a neutral
background and in such a way that you are framed from about the knees
up. Please avoid filming from either too far, or too close, a distance.
- If you have blocked your monologue, by all means
arrange to have someone shoot the scene for you. However, please avoid
any extraneous camera moves.
- Sing us a song. We make all applicants sing a short
song of their choosing. We would ask that you do the same, but please
keep it short.
- Finally, please indicate when you have reached the
end of your taped audition.
