Book Sale:
Every year, our group organize a book sale in support of the Wynanne Downer Award. This an exciting time that allow all readers to get rid of books that accumulate dust on the shelves for unread material!
This event take place in the spring.
The Annual Re-Gifting
Thanks to everyone for the ‘fun’ at the re-gifting, especially Barb for the work and dedication required with planning. We all agree she can do it again next year:>) It was wonderful to see a few old friends and a few new friends.
It was attended by Linda Patzold who stimulated the group with new fundraising ideas and new ideas for special interest groups. The highlights of her presentation can be found in the April minutes.

Tired of bad news?
Politics, Sociology, you want to know more about what is shaking the
world?
Tired of sensationalism and of the caricatured approach of the media?
Want to share what you know, and want to hear what others have to say?
Let’s chase the stereotypes and
try to go beyond the state of fear that the media try to keep us in.
Let’s chase the good news, let’s find out about individuals, businesses
or even corporations that try to make the world a better place and
achieve some level of success.
The CFUW Corner brook Chapter would like to start a discussion group on international affairs. If you are interested, it would be a by-weekly affair around a cup of tea or a cup of coffee in a convenient location for all. This location has yet to be determined.
